Simone Schinkel

Simone is proud to lead Music Victoria - a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping the Victorian music scene reach its full potential. Taking the role on in the middle of the pandemic, Simone has a well-earned reputation for effective advocacy, strategic sector development, and a strong commitment to equity and justice. Currently Music Victoria is overseeing the roll out of 40+ live music gigs across flood impacted areas of Victoria, a festival that responds to the Black Saturday Bushfires, gigs on steam trains, and major Victorian Government initiatives - the Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) and a cutting edge event and co-work space Music Market. She holds a Master of Arts and Cultural Management, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in technical production, is an alumni of the Australia Council’s Emerging Leaders Development Program and an AIR Women in Music Mentor.
