As Head of Music for Spotify Australia and New Zealand, Alicia is responsible for overseeing and managing the Music organisation. She leads the AUNZ Music Team, focusing heavily on development of the Music team strategy and strategic industry relationships, music curation and policies around a suite of foundational song and playlist metrics, identifying first-rate music playlist listening and programming experiences across a multitude of genres, moods and moments, creatively influencing changes within the department and championing critical team initiatives, building and maintaining relations with key industry partners at senior levels across the community and country and identifying artist projects to partner on in the most meaningful way.
Alicia builds and maintains strong links between Spotify’s Music team - Editorial and Artist & Label Partnerships - and the music creator community including artists, managers, record label, industry bodies and publishing company executives, playing an executive role in development of strategy, creative projects, relationships, daily programming and music marketing initiatives for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring that local culture and regional programming is being reflected on Spotify.
Alicia works closely with the International music teams, who have created over 5,000 playlists (including staples like Today's Top Hits, Rap Caviar, and local powerhouses Front Left, A1 and Hot Hits Australia) - these playlists cumulatively generating billions of streams per week for artists big and small.
Alicia, who appeared at #6 on The Music’s Power 50 (2020), made her start in the music industry as Radio & Chart Manager at The Music Network and joined Spotify with over eight years experience as music programmer for Mood Media, Viacom (MTV) and Foxtel Music Channels.
She is a champion of homegrown music, is a self professed yogi and is very partial to an Italian red (a "2010", to be exact).
