#About

Jacob Ridgeway (Worimi/Gamilaroi) was born and raised on his love for music, kindled by his mother’s fusion of ’90s/00s Country and Hip-Hop/R&B.

From taping over his parents’ wedding video to watch Rage at the age of three, selling mixtapes in school for extra cash and being kicked out of his high school music class, Jacob’s passion and pursuit of music were present and inevitable.

Jacob’s talent first shone as he delivered a captivating performance at the 2014 G20 Summit, backed by the QPAC Choir and William Barton of “My Island Home”.

Opportunities continued to flow as Jacob shared stages and collaborated with notable artists such as Jessica Mauboy and Urthboy. Festivals like QLD Music Festival, Jazz on the Green, and events like the 2018 Commonwealth Games, NRL All-Stars, International Choral Festival (Canada) & CMA Fest (Sounds Australia - Nashville) became platforms for his mesmerising performances.

Jacob’s music is an avenue for self-expression, allowing him to share his experiences and observations. His debut single, ‘Bullyman,’ garnered critical acclaim, reaching high positions on iTunes charts and winning the 2019 Grand Prize National Indigenous Story Award. The song’s impact extended beyond the music industry, being utilised in school curricula across Australia.

‘I’m Not Coming Home,’ his second single/EP, resonated with audiences by capturing struggles and self-discovery through storytelling. The track made its mark on iTunes charts and the Triple A Original 100 Countdown and recently hit 100k streams.

In his pursuit of growth, the pandemic hiatus allowed Jacob to delve into new music and creation. Continuing to draw inspiration from R&B melodies, Country storytelling, and the dynamic beats of Hip-Hop and Dance production, Jacob can’t wait to share the work of his upcoming releases.
