Co-President of Roc Nation Records, Omar Grant has been a key player in the development and establishment of some of hip hop’s most influential names.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Grant’s first music industry job was as assistant tour manager to Destiny’s Child. Ascending the ranks quickly, Grant would go onto tour manage the three members of the group individually, before working as an A&R at EMI and Epic Records.
Joining Roc Nation in 2011, Grant was responsible for signing DJ Mustard to the label, and also served as A&R on Rihanna’s first #1 album, her debut Unapologetic, before reuniting with Rihanna to develop her eighth studio album, 2016’s Anti.
Sharing his experiences with Chris Vaughan (TikToK and AUD'$) Grant’s appearance at BIGSOUND is a must see for hip hop artists, industry professionals and fans – offering insights from a career grown within the inner sanctum of the culture.
