In 2019 music icon, Bic Runga (Ngāti Kahungunu, Rongomaiwahine) recorded 'Haere Mai Ra' the Māori version of her hit single 'Sway' as part of the Waiata Anthems album project. This life changing experience, helped Runga to reconnect to her people, and her rich cultural heritage, which has sparked her aspirations to champion te reo Māori (the language) and support the growth of a vibrant bilingual music community in Aotearoa.
