Our focus here at BIGSOUND is to honour our First Nations peoples, culture and traditions. We proudly incorporate that across all aspects of BIGSOUND, and most importantly at our Opening Ceremony. To honour the Traditional Owners of the land and waters on which BIGSOUND is held, Tribal Experiences will be providing a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony as part of our Welcome Opening Ceremony. A smoking ceremony is an important and ancient First Nations custom, involving the burning of native plants to create smoke, that not only has cleansing properties, but is used to ward off bad spirits from the land and people and welcome in positive energy and pathways to a brighter future.
